BSG Chemie Leipzig fell to a 0-2 defeat against league leaders Rot-Weiß Erfurt in the Regionalliga Nordost, failing to capitalize on a dominant home performance. Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities and controlling large portions of the match, the Saxons were unable to break through Erfurt’s defense, while the visitors efficiently converted their limited chances.

The home side began with aggressive intent, generating early danger within the first ten minutes. Malick Sanogos shot from two meters out narrowly missed after a corner kick, and Luis Jakobi forced Erfurt goalkeeper Lorenz Otto into a full stretch to parry a long-range effort. The match remained tightly contested, with Erfurt’s defense repeatedly clearing corners under pressure.

Chemie continued to press, but luck favored the visitors when Dustin Forkel broke through on goal following a defensive error, only to shoot just wide of Marcel Bergmann’s post. Just before halftime, Willi Reincke found himself unmarked in front of Otto, but his central shot failed to result in a goal.

After the break, Erfurt increased their pressure, forcing Leipzig back into their own half. The home side weathered the storm and regained control, though Erfurt’s physical play disrupted Leipzig’s offensive rhythm with frequent fouls. BSG coach sought more attacking options by introducing new signing Luka Klanac.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 75th minute. Although Leipzig appeared to have cleared a dangerous attack, Romarjo Hajrulla managed to pass into the box for Benjika Caciel, who turned and scored. The goal shifted the momentum, and Erfurt secured their lead with a second goal from Robbie Felßberg in the 86th minute.

The victory reinforces Rot-Weiß Erfurt’s position at the top of the table. As champions of the Regionalliga Nordost, Erfurt is set for direct promotion to the 3. Liga this season.
