France's Ntamack at 'fighting weight' on injury return

France fly-half Romain Ntamack said on Saturday his return from an eight-month lay-off "stung a bit" but he was at his "fighting weight" as he came off the bench in Toulouse's Top 14 win over Pau.

Ntamack missed the World Cup on home soil and this year's Six Nations with the serious knee injury he suffered in August.

The 24-year-old played 25 minutes as his club beat Pau 31-29 to move three points behind league leaders Stade Francais in the table.

"I'm at fighting weight, it's true I put on a few kilos in December around the Christmas period, I wasn't running then," Ntamack told Canal.

"People pulled my leg a bit, I worked to lose the kilos. Just playing 25 minutes stung a bit, I'm trying to get back into things slowly," he added.
